"Donna sotto le stelle" is the telecast of the fashion show, which closes the fashion week in Rome. The event is organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and broadcast live traditionally in summer from the stairway of Trinità dei Monti in Piazza di Spagna in Rome.
The first edition of "Donna sotto le stelle" was broadcast by RAI channels from 1986 to 1993, and it exclusively saw paraded the houses of haute couture. All subsequent editions to 1993 have been transmitted by Mediaset channels, in particular from Canale 5, and they have included the prêt-à-porter parades.
The last edition of the TV program, was broadcast in 2003. The following year "Donna sotto le stelle" had to go to the RAI channels, but at the last moment the event has been canceled, for financial difficulties, although in 2010 the mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno had raised the possibility of a new edition the event.
